How Long?

Hi there! Just wondering what the procedure is now after an inspection re the written report/internet report? I had an inspection on July 12th and am going on holiday on Sunday so would like to see it before we go. I rang Ofsted on Monday and was told: the report is published on internet within 15 days of the inspection and written report is sent out at the same time - no longer the need for signature first etc. etc. Once the 15 days were up........ I rang Ofsted yesterday as was told: 25 days is the time scale that they work to and I will be sent a copy of the report first for signature before it is put on the internet. I am waiting for someone…

hi all, we had a calling from our ofsted inspector yesterday, (at the holiday club). I had been expecting her because she had called to ask about our outings for the summer. I have met her twice before and was relieved to know that it would be her inspecting us. After a day of me fretting about trivial things she asked to give feedback, and she gave us GOOD for all areas and GOOD overall. I'm so pleased as last time we recieved an inadequate due to my deputy being late and me being alone with children. I just wanted to share my happiness with others!!! laura xx

HI we had our early years advisor come in today and she said that our national standards booklet was old, and to order a new one of the website. The latest version i can bring up is the 2001 edition, (which is not linked to the 5 outcomes, as the inspections now are).. is the 2001 issue the latese issue? Also she asked us if we had an are you ready for ofsted booklet and the one we had was way old, the one i bring up on the ofsted site is 2005, is that the newest issue... are you working with these issues in your setting or are there more update one's that i may be missing? Has anyone actually had a complete No Notice Inspection? We are a sessional Pre School in a church hall. We are about a mile away from our nearest primary school (who were last *Ofsteded* in 2004). So we will have no notice at all - but we haven't heard of anyone else having the Inspector turn up with no notice? do they actually do that? All the Pre Schools in our local area, although Independently run by parent committees are on school grounds and are recieving notice along with the school. One Pre School, recently had notice on the Thursday of one week, for the Inspection to take place on the foloowing Thursday!! - needless to say, all their staff were busy, b…

Lea Inspector's Feedback
by Guest- 3 replies

"is it me?" should be my signature, as I seem to put it in every posting! We had an LEA inspector in last week to 'observe' literacy activities. The 'observation' went something like this; *Inspector + sidekick arrive, polite hellos etc. *Nursery staff invite inspector + sidekick to talk to children, work with children see samples of work, look at displays, talk to staff. The usual and quite frankly, the expected. *Inspector + sidekick take a quick (2 mins at the most) tour around the nursery. They talk to no-one. Not even a child. *Inspector + sidekick sit down in the office and talk to each other, writing in folders. They do not look in the children…

Is this a record? Last february 2005 we took on an apprentice, we sent off the forms to Ofsted and we sent CRB forms in March to Ofsted. In september 05 she eventually got her CRB returned to her. TODAY I recieved a letter from Osfed telling me she is suitable to work with children!! 1yr and 4 months after the initial DC2 had been sent. Glad they are so efficient!! To add to this we are still awaiting the committee to be all cleared or approved from last November, 1 was done in Jan, on enquiry as to why no others they said one needed chasing up as her CRB from school was OK, and would send form to others. so far only 1 more has recieved a form and wa…

Feedback meeting booked for 4pm Peggy has a hospital appointment at 2:45pm ( ultrasound so should be in and out quickly) Inspectors arrive at setting at 3:20 pm Peggy delayed at hospital until 3:50 pm, arrives at preschool at 4:10 pm THEY STARTED WITHOUT ME but hey, I don't care because we got a "Satisfactory" for 4 outcomes and a "Good" for Making a positive contribution. The recommendations are very minor, ie: Ensure parents put icepacks in the lunchboxes ( 1st day of Inspection very hot) Maths-calculation, have more of this within our routine. ( Question from Inspector when looking at record keeping "Which children are strong in M…

First time I've set up a poll so hope it works. As you may be aware, I've had my Ofsted Inspection this week, Monday and Tuesday. ( Preschool) Past Inspections feedback has been at the end of the second day, however, this time we have to wait until Monday. Just wondered want the normal / average waiting period is, so please do the poll just to feed my curiosity. Thanks. Peggy I've put my own 'vote' in. (Yippee, it worked ) Peggy

Thursday I had an 'appointment' with an Ofsted Inspector to discuss changing registration details (add Holiday club) She didn't turn up ( letter clearly stated 10am Thurs 8th June) I rang to find out where she was and was diverted to 'an inspectors' phone line, left a voice mail message " Hello, if you are lost, ring.....and I'll direct you to us" My daughter (works for me) later took the return call, the Inspector denied any knowledge of the appointment, said " We wouldn't have an appointment, you are due an Inspection, you are on our list, by the way is your SEF done" ( no, it's actioned for end of term, and I was up untill 1:30 am getting all the stuff r…
