I've heard about a preschool idea called a question table where there is a new question everyday and the children and parents are encouraged to answer the question such as Did you walk to nursery today? ...has anybody else heard of it or was i dreaming it??? Does anybody use one and does it work?

Guess what guys Been on edge for the last month not knowing weather they are going to walk through the door or not (praying they would just before half term.. so that i could relax).... and today got the dreaded phone call from my inspector to say sorry for not turning up in February now it will be sometime in March She cannot tell me when it will be unannounced Having said that she did sound a nice lady so yet another month to go not knowing when........ never mind keep smiling

Hi I work in a small pre school and we have been notified that we are due to have our first combined inspection this month. As we are a small setting this creates potential staffing difficulties. I work as a part time deputy but to ensure that my manager is free to give her time to the Inspectors I have to work full time for this month as we have no idea which day the inspectors will arrive. This of course incurs extra financial expense in terms of my increased wages. In addition we have declined the offer of a place on a training course - again, "in case" the inspector turns up that day. Hello, am new to the forum. Work as a Nursery Nurse in a brand new school (40 pupils in total). Will be inspected by Ofsted in November - 'informal' (ha!) visit next week. Presently work alongside the KS1 teacher in whole class teaching sessions (YR 1, 2 and Reception) although we are lucky enough to have enough room for the Reception children (all 8 of them) to work with me following Foundation. This means I do do some whole class stuff with them on my own which may mean I will be observed. Would be grateful if anyone has any feedback/advice on how best to prepare (not including alcohol!!!) for the visit - anything you were picked up on? anything I need to be …

I can't go into too much detail at this moment in time-I have to wait for the written report to come through-but we have done well! I will give a more thorough report once I am free to do so. All I can say is, that although it was stressful it has been very constructive too. Linda
