Hi All! I'm currently undertaking my Foundation Degree and have been looking at different approaches to teaching and learning. One of the approaches is Schema which builds on work by Piaget and Chris Athey. I only have a limited concept of schema and wondered if anybody could enlighten me as to how they use this approach in their setting or where I might access further information.

The question being: "The foundation stage provides a flexible curriculum that takes into account the developmental needs of young children aged 3-5" Critically examine this statement and back up your conclusions through knowledge of the foundation stage and needs of young children. Do any of you have any opinions or experiences that could help me? Thanks! Shona

Hi, I have now spent hours searching the net for my dissertation and have come to the conclusion that I'm going to have to change from' story aids and their role in language development', as there just isn't enough specific information. So now the title is 'Storytelling - A powerful developmental tool'. I really need to build a file of early years practitioners views, so if you can help in anyway it would be a big help. Fiona.
