Guest
Hi Well a couple of weeks ago we had our OFSTED registration visit. It was 3 hours long but there was myself (manager), chair and nominated person. It was a good experience. She saw the hall which we are to use and realised just what we are up against ie nothing to be left out on walls. It was good also to get some advice and information from her. What she did say was that it would not be possible to get outstansing at our first inspection as it would be within 6 months for the reason that it would be very difficult to show that the chidren had made progress. So to those that didi get it....well done!!! M

AnonyMouse_7120
Well done, but don't get to hung up on them coming within 6 months, ours was 2 years after registration
AnonyMouse_3307
Interesting she said that. I know a setting that got Outstanding.......................on their opening day! How on earth did that work??? Since the framework revision in November the impact of teaching over time is much much more important in the outcomes judgements so it would be harder though not impossible to get outstanding. I think the likelihood is much reduced now. Cx
Guest Elainepat
Marly, i'm waiting my registration visit. I think I have all paperwork I need, but i,m a bit worried I may have left something out. Also does setting set up have to be completed before inspector visits? Any advice is welcome. Thank you in advance. Ex
Guest sn0wdr0p
We waited a year. I called them on a Friday and asked if they had forgotten us (the tension waiting for the knock was unbearable). They said not but an inspector turned up on the Monday at 7.30am! This was six months before the introduction of the EYFS and we got six outstanding areas - safeguarding etc. but it is so much harder now as the number of areas are now amalgamated. We were an out of school club then offering creche sessions during the day but are a full day nursery and out of school club now. Still chasing that elusive outstanding judgement - next time hopefully.
