AnonyMouse_29664
Hi, having a bit of a panic, can anyone tell me, does Ofsted automatically inspect if a nursery gets a new manager? I did not think they did but was told today that they do - the nursery was last inspected in March of this year and recieved a 'good'.
Guest
Don't think so. They will come and do a 'Suitable person' interview with the manager but I think that is it x
AnonyMouse_29664
Oh! Now why did I think that they did not even do that anymore?! Somehow I had it in my head that they had devolved even that responsibility to the owners / employers - wishfull thinking perhaps!. Any idea how long they leave it to do the interview? AnonyMouse_51737
They don't leave it long a few months I believe at most, but it's only one per career as long as the person in question when swapping employers/self employment does not have a long break. x
AnonyMouse_22628
Pretty sure they don't do suitable person interviews any more.
AnonyMouse_22029
They may do suitable person if the manager has responsibility. Eg a committee run, or where the owners business is not child care. I think that is how it works now.

AnonyMouse_73
Yes this is correct. It is now responsibility of the registered body to decide on suitability of a new manager. OFSTED are so stretched at the moment they have slowly been reducing the events they have to come out for
