AnonyMouse_12960
I have yet to read any Ofsted reports of inspection under the CIF. If anyone has read any, can you point me in the right direction.
AnonyMouse_7120
Someone had posted one on another site, it seemed quite short.
AnonyMouse_73
It early days yet, because its only been in place 3 weeks and usually it takes a couple of weeks to go live on the OFSTED site. You can look on the OFSTED site by choosing 'find an inspection' and then by 'date published' and then 'date range' (eg last week) and choose your region. In my region, almost all of the recent inspections are childminders, so we may have a childminder here who has been inspected and is willing to share their experience. Yes the reports are very short, that change came in earlier in the year. Give it another couple of weeks or so and we'll start to see more from other types of provider Im sure. AnonyMouse_49577
Or maybe use watchsted website for recent reports in your region. I find that much easier than strolling on ofsted Web page.
Guest
Hi all, had our inspection on Wednesday under the new framework - phone call on Tuesday at about 11.45, inspector introduced herself and explained when she was coming and what documentation she wanted to see. One very sleepless night later they arrived exactly on time. They were friendly, approachable, appreciated that we were nervous and in fact were lovely! They tracked 3 children from starting point to that day - one in receipt of pupil premium, one in receipt of two year funding and a new starter - also looked at file of sen child (not in on that day). Shared observation with manager, spoke to lead practitioner for equality and diversity, spoke to all staff re safeguarding. spent a lot of time in the room watching observing the teaching and learning and the interaction between all staff and children. They also spoke to a range of parents. In short it was the longest morning of our lives but its done now!

AnonyMouse_12960
also, could you give an indication of what documentation they asked to see (you mentioned they requested to see some documents when notifying you of the visit). Guest
Of course - list of staff and qualifications, first aid certs, dbs nos., courses attended, supervision records, activity observation records, safeguarding and other policy docs, risk assessments, complaints record (if any), we are committee led so I included latest minutes, and also latest staff meeting minutes (just in case they wanted a look). They also looked at the usual stuff - plans, learning journals (of the children they were tracking). Think that's it but if you have a look at pages 8 and 9 of the inspection handbook (not the CIF) its all on there. Guest
The inspector was being quality assured so we did in fact have 2 - but to be honest they were both lovely!
