  1. Sue! That’s the start of the slippery slope, they’ll be singing carols next month!
  2. Amazing weather this week got loads done in the garden and a joy to have dry non muddy dog walks. Changeovers have started to get busier so we must almost be in the ‘silly season’. Next week my brother and family are down from Kent for a week which will be lovely. My son and his partner got a puppy last Friday, she is gorgeous and luckily my dog has accepted her without a hitch which is a enormous relief.
  3. Hope you’re ok Sunnyday as they say tomorrow is another day. I didn’t feel my knee at all when I was inactive with Covid. Then first day back to normal was really painful and ached all night. But since then it’s been bearable.
  4. Froglet that sounds nasty, hope it is soon better. Well I’ve had two very productive afternoons in the garden and for once feel like I’m on top of both vegetable and flower gardens. It won’t last five minutes but nice whilst it does! Am hoping that this beautiful weather might last..
  5. well we awoke to no electricity! Today of all days. Managed to somehow transfer the 4G from phone to iPad and began to watch the build up then my phone ran out of battery. 😡 How happy was I when I was just about to have a melt down when my husband casually magicked up a generator for the shed and hooked up the tv. I knew I married him for a reason. Thought the whole service and procession was splendid. How beautiful Charlotte and Kate looked. I don’t know that there is a way back for Harry with the family after his book and documentary. I was completely behind him when he wanted to step back and move his family away but his further actions have left me with no sympathy to him. I also have total respect and admiration for Penny Mourdant, what a very together and composed lady, who must have guns of steel and looked amazing.
  6. Thought I’d share this from one of last weeks walks. Amazing variety of colour in the spring plants in such a small area. Mother Nature is truly amazing.
  7. Hope the bees leave you in peace from now on Finleysmaid. Well for me this week has been a total write off as have Covid. Been feeling rotten but am my own worst enemy as am not a good patient and try and do too much to prove I’m better and then wipe myself out! Do it every time. Tested positive on Monday and still feeling rubbish. Hope it goes soon. So what are everyone’s plans for the coronation weekend?
  8. Great news about the knee Sunnyday I’m envious. After a weeks respite from mine being too painful, today it is being a right bugger! Am hoping for some nice weather at the weekend so can carry on with some garden jobs, just felt I was getting on top of it all and then the weather changed and has been very yucky for the last few days. Really hope it settles soon. Off to see the dental therapist now because at my check up this week the dentist discovered to new small chips in my teeth, I am NEVER eating Bon bons again! Hope everyone has a lovely long weekend.
  9. Really weird day today. It’s my birthday but would also have been my Dads birthday and it’s the first one without him. It just doesn’t feel right at all. I would happily have ignored it but we all went out to lunch and then I was quite grateful that I had to work for a couple of hours. I guess it’s always going to feel strange after sharing 48 if them with my Dad. Froglet hope you are ok and feeling in a better place. If I lived near you I would come and be your cleaner.
  10. Ahh froglet, look after yourself. I hope you get your jobs done so you can clear your mind and try and enjoy some of the weekend. Take care. X
  11. Sunnyday that is truly fantastic. Well done to you all.
  12. I think that as well, nothing compares to having two babies without any sort of pain relief! I hope to hear that your knee is making progress soon. X
  13. Sunnyday glad you have had the injection and hope that it will help you so much. Was it awful? Glad you seem to be making progress through your NHS system, it seems quicker than we are down here. I only ever had one child at school who’s parent I also looked after and quite a few of parents who were in the class that I did my student placement in. But I agree it’s well scary when you think a child is about 8 and they are actually just about to sit their GCSES! Im off to the garden centre with my son tomorrow to spend the vouchers I was given when I left school in July. Fitting in a dump run on the way. (Such glamour and excitement). Have a lovely weekend all.
  14. My sons girlfriend has been at university for the last three years training to be a dental therapist. She finally finishes in May and will be moving in with him. So happy for them, it’s been a tough three years having a long distance relationship and the great news is that she is so impressive that she has a job offer already. It’s very exciting to think that the next chapter of their lives are about to start. They are also getting a gorgeous sprocker puppy which I am sure I am going to be dog Granny to on a frequent basis. Just hope my Cleo accepts it! Here is the puppy they have chosen.
  15. Well goodness gracious me what a horrid day. Lovely driving to work and I thought they had got the forecast wrong, less than an hour later the clouds opened and it hasn’t stopped since! I have had one of those days where I have got drenched several times over and lost my sense of humour after the wet and wild dog walk! At least all the visitors that are here had a few good days over Easter, now they are seeing the real Cornish weather! Stay safe all in the storm.
  16. Came in here last night very wet but we have had a sunny but windy day (the weather not me😉) but it’s just started raining again. Such a shame as all the fields and footpaths were just starting to dry up as well.
  17. I bet they went down well with the nurses.
  18. Happy Easter all. I had to do changeovers yesterday, there are certainly a lot of people in Cornwall for Easter! My kitchen currently looks like a laundry with the bedding and towels from the cottage that sleeps six. Thank goodness it’s going to be good drying weather for the weekend! Sunnyday, I would go ahead with the injection, they are meant to be very effective and might make a huge difference to you and allow you to get back to normal completely. My knee is still painful, sometimes it’s worse than others but have to get on with it because goodness knows how long before I get an appointment with the hospital. We have just had my Niece visit from Kent, she is mentally and physically disabled and lives in a residential home as sadly her parents are no longer with us. Such a joy to have her down and to celebrate her 34th birthday it was lovely. Have a lovely weekend all. I’m off to battle the east wind and get some washing on the line! Xx
  19. I do my feet, hands and temple! It has such a lovely smell not overpowering like most sleeping potions. My poor Mum tried it and had the worst night sleep ever, only managed three hours.
  20. We will have to ask Cait.
  21. I wondered about that as well. Glad it worked for you. Xx
  22. We are all going to have summer ready feet if nothing else!
  23. Well I used it last night but I did also take some codeine which makes me sleep so not a fair test! Will try just the butter tonight. Was having a giggle when rubbing it in that when I got up in the night I might go skidding and slipping across the floor! How did everyone get on with it?
  24. Yep my sleeping foot butter arrived today, will be trying it tonight. Let’s compare notes (if we wake up) tomorrow. The knee is the same, just gritting my teeth and getting on. My worse thing at the moment is the agony of peri menopause bone and muscle ache, I swear I feel like a 100 year old some days with demobs rampaging through my body. Hopefully the patches will help.
  25. Happy birthday Panders! Have a lovely day whatever you are doing xx
