  1. This one child will work out to be very expensive to my company🤔a full wage to one of my staff that I have already laid off work and will need to tell her to return😬
  2. Can someone please help to answer this question. Do we HAVE to stay open for keyworker children? What if we only have 1 child? That would mean we need a manager/designated safeguarding office/first aided on duty and at least 2 staff. We would need to keep heating on.. electric on. This would be a large cost to us. Plus the government will not pay the 80% of those 2 staff wages as they are still working. Where do we we get these answers😒💆🏼‍♂️
  3. We are all jumping for joy about the government paying up to 80% off staff wages and some are saying they will now stay open. The government stated that The 80% is for Staff NOT working but staying on payroll. I do not think You will not get this if staff continue to work. Please check this out first. Also check out your insurance that I mentioned in a different forum. If you need to send one staff home or one child that has symptoms Surly we should also go into isolation🤔 vulnerable children and staff should not be in nursery because your insurance probably won’t cover them for the Coronavirus. This would include having asthma. Do you have enough toilets rolls, hand sanitiser, nappies and wipes....
  4. YOUR INSURANCE POLICY: we are asked to stay open for vulnerable but I have read this....
  5. Did I hear him say they will pay 80% of staff wages?????
  6. Just got this from LA: ‘We continue to ask you all to remain open to support the children of key workers as identified by the government. As well as these children, we also ask you to continue to offer care to vulnerable children which we can now confirm includes FEE2 and those in receipt of SENIF funding’ came a bit late for me as as I closed today!
  7. When you sign post you must also have a member of staff to go with those children that have parents that are keyworkers 😬
  8. Give UK nurseries emergency funding if they have to close down amid COVID-19 https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/301836
  9. I can’t find these🤔
  10. Undercover info.....
  11. Did any one notice that where it says stay open for key workers and vulnerable children ………………….it includes supermarket delivery drivers!! Best look through children's registration forms for parents occupations "After schools shut their gates on Friday afternoon, they will remain closed until further notice except for children of key workers and vulnerable children, as part of the country’s ongoing response to coronavirus. Examples of these workers include NHS staff, police and supermarket delivery drivers who need to be able to go to work to support the country’s fight to tackle coronavirus. Vulnerable children include those who have a social worker and those with Education, Health and Care Plans – a legal document that describes a child’s special educational needs and the support they require"
  12. After the news today of nurseries being asked to close all I can say is I’m so sad that I may be saying goodbye to many of my children now that I may not be seeing again as we may be closed for all of the summer term. So many emails in my inbox that I can’t answer from parents. How do we face tomorrow how do we face parents, staff, children....... I feel totally lost as what to say... my little business of beautiful Little children has just come crashing down. How do we tell these babies in our care that next week we are closed and we don’t even know when we will reopen...
  13. Pubs and restaurants are to get up to £25000 grant...……………... No talk about grants for nurseries. My thoughts on this are is that they will offer us a grant but not yet. If they do it now some nurseries will close now as they will get the grant and funding, and that's their concern. They need us now to stay open so Doctors, nurses etc can continue to work, if they want us to stay open for longer then look after us!!!!! They talk about help with statutory sick pay, none of my staff are sick so will continue to be on full wages if we close. I own my nursery but rent the premises, I am concerned for my business but also my staff. I want to be able to pay them if we close.
  14. We have a lot of children that are not in due to parents worrying. There is no information about private nurseries and what will happen, we are all just waiting to be contacted by our Local Authority.... Parents are not going to pay their fees if we close! I suggest that you contact some of your local nursery managers and see what they are doing. What are they telling parents with regards to paying fees? We are all going to have to work together as the Local Authority are not going to approach us and say 'hey we will pay all the fees for you whilst your closed' I have 4 invoices that parents haven't paid due to keeping their child off, I can see more parents doing the same by the end of this month. I don't think they will hold back funding if we have to close, surely they wouldn't be that silly My other concern is children that are not attending now! As we all know we have to inform the council if a child has had more than 2 weeks off as the will stop funding them. One important message is we must ensure we continue to follow our safeguarding procedures and contact the families to see why children are not attending. If they have a social worker or an Early Help plan, please contact whoever is leading on the case to let them know the child is at home.
  15. Does anyone know if there is an amount of time we must keep signing in/out books (When parent drops or picks child) and also the daily register? Have 3 years worth that are collecting dust.
