  1. Missed the boat with the quiz questions, and useless at the emojis films. We've been making words from the letters in coronavirus today, how sad are we?
  2. I'm sure many of you will have seen this but if not, read this 'And the people stayed home. And read books, And listened, And rested, and exercised, And made art, and played games, And learned new ways of being, and were still. And listened more deeply. Some meditated, Some prayed, Some danced. Some met their shadows. And the people began to think differently. And the people healed. And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways, the earth began to heal. And when the danger passed, And the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, And dreamed new images, and created new ways to live and heal the earth completely, Just as they were healed themselves' Kathleen O'Meara (1839-1888)
  3. I think my garden might look the tidiest it's looked for years. I've planted loads more seeds this year, I'm slowly running out of space in the greenhouse.
  4. Yes 1:4, not 1:6 and yes you do currently have the most recent edition of the statutory framework. There was something on rising threes in schools for the purpose of registration, but this did not affect ratio. This was changed with the growth of two year provision in schools.
  5. As Ben said, you've got an interview, so if this is your first, then you're obviously doing something right. Be prepared to talk about anything you have written about in your application. Be clear about your strengths and how they match the person spec. But also don't shy away from things you don't know or need to develop. Give examples of how you've worked with a governing body or MAT, if it is one. Demonstrate your leadership abilities with concrete examples Don't be too put off by an internal candidate, I got my current job despite there being an internal candidate so it does happen. Your interview could be over two days with multiple tasks as well as an interview. In the event that you don't get it, ask for some feedback that will help you next time. Good luck, let us know how you get on.
  6. The Barbie book was the nickname given to The Curriculum Guidance to the Foundation Stage because it had the pink strip down the side. Sorry the art of photo addition has eluded me. Maybe it was a regional thing but we just always called it the Barbie book.
  7. Where does the time go? I remember the days when (I only joined in the April), it was all shiny and new and we rattled around a bit. I guess 17 years has seen some pretty big changes in the FSF and also in the world of early years? Who remembers the desirable learning outcomes and the Barbie book? I think I've learned more than I've shared over the years. Anyway happy birthday to the FSF.
  8. This evening at 8.30pm. The early years miracle? Sorry if it's been mentioned elsewhere. Might be worth a listen.. hmm I wonder if I can even find radio 4! https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000f6tx
