  1. I know the film, just can't remember what it's called!
  2. I don't think that will happen with mine
  3. No this is definitely one area we are totally different (although you did catch up in the end ) I've always just been able to sew. I cannot remember ever actually having been taught as such. My mum used to make my dresses, and some of earliest memories are of going to the fabric shop to choose fabric for my dress. They all seemed to be one style - very much like what is in fashion for children today. I think I just watched her as I played alongside whilst she sewed. I used to get frustrated at school, as things took to long - in the end I was allowed to just on with what ever I wanted - encouraged by a fantastic teacher.
  4. Sounds like my week and new daily routine. Although today I have put up a list of activities for next week on our Facebook page. (I would like to thank the Tapestry team for that )
  5. well at least I weedled out another clue
  6. In my defence I didn't no the thread had move on I just went with a music theme as I fell you like music (and you got me all excited there- I thought I'd got one right!)
  7. Sounds like us. I mean how on earth can you charge parents at a time like this? . Funding for us is a biggie in the Summer term as it over flows to cover quiet autumn term (like many others) I guess the government is saying is that that shouldn't happen and funding should be used wholly for the term the children are with you- which all be fine and dandy if the funding was a little higher in the first place.
  8. I"m just glad I'd didn't offer 100% at any point. If I'm honest I did think it was all a bit to good to be true. In my furlough letter I actually but 'if the government doesn't backtrack on it's offer we should be able to top up lost wages when we return to normal working". I have absolutely no issue with using funding to pay wages- I would just like some help paying my fixed costs- we cannot claim any other help.
  9. Oh, 40 years - me too this year- actually in a few weeks time ...............arh.. bet my family are going to throw a big surprise party
  10. Happy Birthday, enjoy that cake!
  11. Happy Birthday Zigzag. I actually love this cake I handed my husband a Betty Crocker packet mix and suggested he tried making it- you'd have think I'd offered him a time bomb. He chucked it down and said he need to do something in garden..... a day later and some trellis I've be asking for for 2 years suddenly appeared
  12. The top of the document is dated: 21 April 2020 It's this bit that slightly worries me after last week. I think it might mean we could lose funding but go back to needing to furloughing staff
  13. I just had an email to say it keeps crashing it took me quite a while to finally complete it.
  14. Oh I'm impressed with my self1 I check the link worked and it went straight to the funding section.
  15. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-early-years-and-childcare-closures/coronavirus-covid-19-early-years-and-childcare-closures?fbclid=IwAR3VVy4Hvz_lEq-fDSe7R8UppdgZZlQZeB-zoibsQui08dznlFNOQaHkgvE#funding If you scroll down it's under the heading "Funding" As I say a really hope it means to LA part of funding rather than the FEEE. I shouldn't really add this to the Friday Fun Thread.
  16. Sunnyday I know you're of a certain age like me. Not sure about you, but I'm beginning to take this personally ... 1st- they took our pensions, 2nd- they lay strict restrictions on the funding - they seem to have forgotten our fixed costs rents etc 3rd- On the 21st the department of education announces LA can redirect funding if they need to. With regards to point three, I think (I bl**dy hope!) they are actually refuring to the LAs own training pot of money. Quite honestly I'm about ready to walk away from all this, I've had enough mentally- worrying about children and staff for very little personal reward (well apart from happy staff and children)... maybe I'll just retire then, after all I am of a certain age - no wait! I can't -they too that option from me first!!!
  17. If it's the one I saw at weekend (well I think it was the weekend but not sure anymore, even the government think we don't deserve weekend - re Friday night bombshell) That evening Gove categorically stated this would not be happing. (but I guess that means nothing either really)
