  1. Hi, In light of the new proposals for funded places for one year olds and upwards from September, Im considering starting to accept under twos. Is there an application process with OFSTED? At the moment we take two years upwards. Or do we just assess our premises, resources, staff etc and inform OFSTED of the change? I'm thinking 18 months plus rather than younger than that. Thank you.
  2. Yes I think the same Cath. It’s such a problem finding staff now, especially qualified ones 😞
  3. Yes! It’s hard to recruit anyone vaguely suitable, and even harder to find anyone qualified.
  4. Thanks Helen - I had thought I remembered something about ‘working towards’ but it was from many years ago.
  5. Hello, Can someone 'working towards' either a level 2 or level 3 qualification count in the '50% of other staff' requirement? I can't find anything definitive about it. Thank you
  6. Hi, I've just started entering data into the new booking system and it looks like it will be really useful. It would be great to be able to edit the register, as we normally have extra columns for Key Person, lunches etc - will this be possible at some point? I assume invoices will be added at some point as well? Thank you
  7. Thank you - I've asked them for a test but didn't realise about the day eight test.
  8. Thanks for the reply - not rambling! I've asked for dates and will see what they say. They have got family reasons to be fair and went there before it was red list so have been stuck for a while. But I am quite concerned as you can imagine!
  9. Hi Do you require some sort of proof of hotel quarantine having been completed and/or a negative COVID test before allowing a child to return to nursery after travelling from a red list country? Thank you A
  10. Jeez ☹️ Just getting worse and worse
  11. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-55977904?ns_mchannel=social&ns_source=twitter&ns_campaign=bbc_live&ns_linkname=60217c67f1296a02de3a8b8e%26Can Early Years workers get regular Covid tests%3F%262021-02-08T18%3A05%3A00.332Z&ns_fee=0&pinned_post_locator=urn:asset:f51a9031-e177-43df-881c-ec73a291ae8d&pinned_post_asset_id=60217c67f1296a02de3a8b8e&pinned_post_type=share apparently we will get them as part of the roll out of tests to businesses with over 50 employees - err, how many early years settings have over 50 employees?? 🙄
  12. OMG I’m glad I wasn’t watching that - absolutely outrageous 😡 Says it all
  13. Oh that’s insulting and infuriating 😡 I agree; I’d definitely like to have some and I think it’s better than nothing.
  14. Ah right. Lol re your husband! I know they aren’t as accurate but apparently the positive LFT results are pretty reliable, it’s the false negatives that are more of an issue. That’s what I read anyway. PCR are taking between 24 and 48 most of the time
  15. No - no way I could afford it and we aren’t being offered it by our LA. My staff do want it. It would reduce the stress of waiting for PCR results for staff, which seems to be happening every week atm
  16. Actually I think it’s number of reports and each report may contain more than one case 😳: “If there are multiple reported cases at a setting at one time, a notification can include more than one confirmed case. This means that the number of notifications received does not necessarily correlate with the number of confirmed cases in a setting.”
  17. Ah yes sorry I can see it says that now. The trend is concerning I thought; huge increase from all previous figures.
  18. I know this has been posted about before but I noticed there's an update published today. Not sure if this is the number of settings or individual cases but it's pretty worrying! Reported coronavirus (COVID-19) cases by registered early years and childcare settings - GOV.UK (publishing.service.gov.uk)
