It really was! I didn’t think they could top last year’s!

Mad busy couple of days baking! It was our church bonfire social and I was responsible for the gluten free element of the cakes. I did rainbow buns (extremely popular and went first!) brownies, flapjack (shown upside down because I had to smoosh a layer of chocolate on the base because it’s deliciously sticky) ginger crunch slice and date slice. We had a huge turnout! Mostly, I suspect, because it was in the vicarage garden, and folks wanted a nosey! 🤣🤣🤣🤭

My ‘new granddaughter’ loves her blanket I made her for her 21st birthday. She’s just started uni, and it’ll keep her nice and cosy.

It really is! We had Catherine (Princess of Wales) interested in Early Years, didn’t we? Maybe it needs to be flagged in her direction so she can start to highlight the desperate need.

You really don’t! I do remember all my free time bring totally subsumed by preschool though, and being seriously ‘miffed’ that the woman who took over from me did all the admin in the preschool hours and did nothing in her own time - which I’d done gladly for 25 years unpaid. She also outsourced payroll and finances!

I agree! I’ve never missed it, although if I’m completely honest it took a while to steer away from children's book offers in ‘The Works’ 🤣🤣

How is it Friday already!? Strictly tomorrow 👍🏼 small dog is okay today after her dental. 8 teeth removed so now only three incisors left. She’s done really well considering that when we rescued her three years ago when she was 8, they took most of her teeth out as they were completely rotten. They left the rest as they weren’t too bad after they’d chipped the tartar off, but said at the time she’d only get a maximum of two years out of them. So she’s in recovery mode, getting lots of love and cuddles, but already, obviously feeling more herself.

Yes, in the village I always had the past preschool children arrive all dressed up, even well into their teens with laughter ‘do you know who it is?’

Yes they are cosy! Currently working on a deep purple one for ‘goth’ step-granddaughter for Christmas - she’s just started uni. I’m using DK 100g balls and I’m on the last ball but one, just going back and forth round and back, so it’s pretty big, but not as big as the cotton thread one I made for our daughter’s wedding that took the best part of 9 months and fits their King sized bed.
