  1. nomski is this the situation that you find yourself in? I think you would need to speak to your LA Child might be sent to a 'hub' setting with one of your staff as keyworker
  2. The only thing that I would add and I'm sure you don't need this advice at all, is be outside as much as humanly possible - safer, in my humble, for everyone
  3. Daughter in law sent video of my youngest grandson completing some very simple two piece dinosaur puzzles - I think he has watched too much Peppa Pig - lots of "dinosaur raah"! Very sweet
  4. Oh Mousie - I don't know what to say.....
  5. can't edit - thing not thin obviously.....
  6. You are a clever old thin young froglet
  7. Oh trekker that sounds really worrying
  8. Crossed posts there louby - the chat about one, two or three weeks to go to Easter holiday heads this page - little did we know eh happy cycling - sounds great to me
  9. Good news there Panders - loo rolls? No shopping here - now that I have stopped work I need to go into full social distancing mode - this is all that will keep Mr S safe, I am going to find it incredibly difficult to have no contact with my grandchildren exchanged texts with the three oldest yesterday evening, oldest grandson is down from Uni, oldest granddaughter had her last day at school yesterday (should have been taking her A levels this year) she described it as "sad and weird", on a brighter note she has received an unconditional offer from Leeds Uni so that has taken some pressure off, although ideally she would like to go to Newcastle, middle granddaughter is a bit taken aback by how much schoolwork she will be expected to complete The two little ones - well I don't know really - we can facetime - not as good as spending time with them but hey ho - we just need to try to get through this safely On a brighter note - the sun is shining, my washing line is full, I have cleaned my patio and have rearranged the furniture - simple pleasures
  10. Good morning all - I couldn't possibly post my usual Friday greeting yesterday on what was a sad and worrying day for us all Would be nice (I thought) to keep this thread going just as a place for some general chit-chat hope that the weekend is as good as it can be for us all in these strange and scary times
  11. That's good Stargrower - how many children will you have attending?
  12. Our LA have had to send a reminder for the 'hard of understanding' that it cannot be and I quote "business as usual" from Monday
  13. That's so sad Stargrower - I hope you can find a way to stay open
  14. Just checked - it says "we would need to know the occupations of both parents"
  15. I have read that somewhere too - might have been info from our local primary - I will go and have a look
  16. Felt so sad at pre-school this morning - I was able to speak to each parent individually, two were in tears I imagine that tomorrow will be even worse......but not for the children I have some fun activities planned and we will bring our Easter Egg Hunt forward by a week (thank goodness I bought the eggs a couple of weeks ago) I really hope that the Government might decide that we can re-open at some point before the end of the summer - who knows.....would be awful to not do any of our transition 'stuff' I can't pretend though that this is not a great relief for me, just wasn't quite prepared for Boris to say "this Friday" (it would seem that the LAs didn't think it would be quite so soon either) I was feeling increasingly 'unsafe' and worried about what I might bring home to Mr S (he almost certainly would not survive this virus) - it has all been very stressful
  17. I intend to pay full wages - as long as I am receiving full funding then why would I not?
  18. Nice idea zigzag - what sort of things are going into your packs? Oh and yes, we are closing - this must be the first time ever that I have not had key-worker parents so I am taking that as a sign!
  19. Think that I am talking to myself here! Education Secretary will address HOC at 5pm
  20. If your insurance is through Morton Michel they offer free training via 'flick'
  21. Didn't know where to post this really - just announced schools in Scotland and Wales will be closed from this Friday
  22. Hope you have a lovely day my little black and white furry friend
