    Honestly you’d at least think senior staff would show a bit of interest/initiative and read things, I can’t even have a conversation with my deputy about things we need to think about implementing as she never has a clue what I’m talking about :-( Good luck when Ofsted arrive, I’ll look forward to hearing how it went :-)

    Do you use Tapestry? We now use ‘reflections’ for staff to feed back on training attended, they can share anything that they think we should/could put into practice and the ‘intent’, add pics of any useful handouts, staff can discuss how to ‘implement’ it, and reflect on the ‘impact’, it’s working well :-)

    Good move on sending another staff member, I’m sure my staff just think I’m making it up when I say there will be more focus on interactions/teaching/knowing their key children well rather than whether I can produce reams of paperwork, I saw a post on FB asking for a quiz for staff in EYIF and inspection ....a quiz? I’d be happy if they just showed an interest in reading any publications that relate to their jobs instead of me having to constantly drip feed it in to them all. Are you due inspection before the end of this cycle? we were right at the start of this cycle but who knows with so many settings closing you'd think they’d come around quicker 🤷‍♀️

    How are we at the Friday of half term already? ....it doesn’t feel like I’ve been away from the place yet other than Wednesday, not planning on going into today but still have work to do from home 😢 Roll on Easter

    We charge a small sessional voluntary ‘fairer funding charge’ for consumables for the 3/4 yr funded and nearly all have paid it.

    Never heard of that before zigzag, I just thought we had to work out our floor area and then decide how many you have room for working on the space per age in the EYIF (and staff ratios obv), might be worth giving them a call to ask why it’s on your registration.

    It’s a bit of a ‘catch 22’, if you could open more would your have more children on roll and a waiting list? Maybe as you say you don’t have many that would be entitled to 30hrs but could that be because what you currently offer doesn’t suit the families that would be eligible. Have you introduced a ridiculous consumable charge yet? I’m now seeing a number of settings invoicing for say 6 hrs a day at their fee rate, deducting the ‘free 6 x funded rate’ and charging the rest as consumables (therefore getting around calling it a ‘top up fee’) If I was an owner I’d def be doing that but not so easy when the committee who will have to pay it need to ok it :-(

    Yep and all in the amazing technicolor formats they send out as PDFs so you can’t even tone them done :-(

    Def desirable outcomes, not the Barbie book though mundia .....though I did get the Twinkle comic 🤣 6000 posts FM ....you can also have a 🎖 along with lots of long time (13’ish yrs) forum friends’ for chats, laughs and advice :-)
