  1. P.S I also think there is method to this ...when we all moan about our funding rates again they’ll be like ‘hang on’
  2. just posted similar on another thread, it’s ridiculous they send out contradicting information, whilst telling us they were now looking into they also published a ‘furlough letter’ for members ...sort it out EYA! I’m hoping it doesn’t mean us, my thoughts are it isn’t paid directly to us like schools who are given a budget from the public service purse for the year but that it’s the parents money and we just claim it in their behalf 🤞
  3. It’s all so confusing isn’t it? It’s those 2 statements in the guidance ‘not offering a service’ and not ‘generating income’ that have us all questioning (I am not being furloughed). I’m also disappointed in the EYA, the DfE and themselves had confirmed you could claim the job retention scheme whilst still in receipt of EEF funding but have now said they are looking into this due the ‘public money’ paragraph in the Job retention guidance just cause more confusion and concern ...why not look into then put out something saying ‘we’ve looked into this and .....) 🤷‍♀️
  4. Thanks FM, we don’t do after school care or that would of been a great option even for the ones on 30hr funding.
  5. Is anyone else in the situation where they are intending to furlough staff? I’m worried now that staff won’t be able to carry on using tapestry with their parents even voluntarily because of the trail it will leave showing they were working whilst furloughed, we have some fab stuff going on, a couple of staff have really stepped up with video sending and it will be such a shame to stop this now ....could they ‘voluntarily’ ask me to add stuff for them? Surely this is a good thing for our children and families to know we still care and think about them at this awful time, Am I overthinking this?
  6. Thanks lynned, I thought it would be a refund back to their childcare tax account somehow (best find the log in,) the committee will have to make a plan about others now, either pay all back (no one else has asked but you can bet they’ll soon find out), I’m going to suggest 3 days or less can have extra sessions to make up when re-opened (which is pretty much all the others). We usually give session credits for the odd snow day. How have others approached this?
  7. That is so funny...and very brave of you 🤣
  8. Good work so far :-) 2, 4, 5 to do I think 🤔 4 should read: Fun park with magnetic force 🙈
  9. Cryptic pop groups for starters: 1- Cheerful start to the week 2- GP snagged 3- Easy primary colour 4- Fun park with magnetic attraction 5- Getting nowhere 6- Gorgeous, but not from up north 7- Senior teachers speaking 8- Not an old command 9- A single way 10- These lads sale domestic animals
  10. You could have sold them on the black market ;-) I’ll kick of a games thread :-D
  11. My new hobby is eating ....I hope the novelty wears off soon 🤐 Maybe a games room is needed ...like the hand out rounds you get at quiz nights ...I’ve got some I could put up if anyone wants to play or could add one and the person who answers has to add the next one following the theme?
  12. They do provide an excellent service :-) I didn’t realize there was a question over furloughing & funding, I thought DfE had confirmed we could do both, was just hoping they would deal with it rather than me, I’d happily pay as an additional service :-)
  13. Hi zigzag Are you furloughing staff? If yes do you know if it’s as simple as us telling them who/when from and they’ll do the rest 🤞. Ta
  14. I’ve had our first parent ask for a refund for last 2 weeks of spring term, as you Louby our intention was to offer make up sessions, though this child goes on to 4 days funded next terms so refund is probably the only option but then you get into the ‘if you refund one....’. has anyone else refunded yet and if they were paying through HMRC voucher scheme is there a way to refund it there? 20% of the fees weren’t actually from the parent really we’re they?
  15. My heart was saying we’d get back before the end of the school year, my head is now saying “don’t be b***y stupid” 😔 🤞
  16. I don’t think it means funding as ‘public’ money, there is already DfE and LA guidance published that states we can claim both, even though we claim funding it’s really the parents money we just claim it for them ....if you see what I mean.
  17. This is what I’m wanting my committee to agree too, there is no reason what so ever why they won’t be able to afford it ...far from in fact, I will then continue my admin roles as a voluntary committee member.
  18. Those of you who are managers of committee run settings can you give me an idea on what’s happening in your settings regards ‘furloughing‘ staff please? - Are you being ‘furloughed’ too? my committee are mainly a fundraising committee and I’m extremely worried how/who is going to do all the admin type jobs that will still need doing (payroll & funding to name 2 biggies), they aren’t going away just because we’re closed. - If you will receive adequate income from funding retention and other incentives you could now be entitled to claim are staff still being paid the other 20%? Thanks
  19. I like that idea froglet :-)
  20. Thanks sunnyday....I know 😥
  21. Having agreed to open for no more than a few I am now feeling increasingly anxious about this and feel we have been put in a sh***y position ...say no and we’re not supporting who I consider to be our frontline parents (agree it should have said both or single parent ....it got silly) or open for them putting staff at risk and then their families in turn, I was hoping the ‘even if key workers chn SHOULD stay at home’ drive may have changed minds but instead they are emailing to chop and change days 😩
  22. I told one of my parents they’d either have to cut up a couple of bath towels or get on with toilet training when she was saying she couldn’t get the usual nappies
  23. Hopefully tonight’s announcement re covering retaining staff up to 80% will help you out lynned?
  24. I didn’t think it was funded 2’s or send (unless EHCP) We are opening for 2/3 but prob not needed every day for the time being, all staff on full pay, hoping we can apply for something to help cover the loos of paid fees. What a strange day, so much to do to give much time to the children we might not see back with us again ...very sad 😢
