  1. I'm not far off the age group, and I keep thinking 'do it. do it'. quickly followed by 'don't be silly, it's a mistake - wait your turn!'
  2. Well it's certainly is Friday not even midday - but it been a long day already! We did not open today as I decided it's just far too cold in hall, not one parent moaned (mind you only 4 anyway) Just relaxing and watching This Is Us, and I get the dreaded phone call from daughter in tears .... the baby (well one year old) has cut her finger and it won't stop bleeding- daughter totally distraught. Quick over the phone assessment and I work out it's not an A&E job. I say I'll be straight over, she lives a bout 15-20 away, one junction up the motorway so if can be quicker is road clear.. get there and my daughter is covered in blood.... grandchild happily watching TV on mum's lap- tissue covering the cut. I remove the tissue and look for the cut - it's tiny!! to be honest not even sure if it warranted a plaster. I dressed it anyway, and my daughter just hugged me crying. I think her mental health is really at straining point now ๐Ÿ˜ข. My daughter is the 'go to person' in emergencies and I really was expecting far worse. Anyway- sod the virus I stayed there, we cuddled ๐Ÿ™€!!!! We sat snuggled up and watched This is Us together while the baby played Andy has his jab yesterday and seems ok today. ๐Ÿคž
  3. Oh my goodness..... I've just aged the poor woman by 10 years!!!! She 73!!!
  4. Well Andy got offered his today by txt, and is now booked for tomorrow afternoon! My 83 yr old staff member had her yesterday, we asked if any side effects and she said none .... although that said she could have a leg hanging off and still say she's fine!!!
  5. Well I had a reply from my MP today!! In the post, on expensive paper, first class mail! only took him a month to give the stock answers ๐Ÿ˜ค I would have been happier with an email a bit sooner.
  6. this weeks figures .... https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/958866/Reported_coronavirus_COVID-19_notifiactions_by_registered_early_years_and_childcare_settings.csv/preview?fbclid=IwAR0qBkWxnIlv3nPo4knYgDWNS0-OUvO364ePZZa6-LbKmjYB-vpFuUh0q5U
  7. I walked out of the room swearing muttering loudly before that - when he said all workers that feel they are put at risk would now have easy access to workplace testing (or something like that)
  8. That's both happy and sad news at the same time. ๐Ÿ˜Š xx
  9. Wow, that's so lovely, and it has pockets too!
  10. Are you seriously going for the retirement ๐Ÿ˜ณ. xxx
  11. I only got the phone call due to my well-being grant application wording - I should have just applied for a spa weekend rather telling them how I felt! ๐Ÿคฃ
  12. But doesn't the day just dddrrrraaaaaaaaaagggggg with such low numbers! We are only doing mornings- and I think we will continue with this until Easer now.
  13. Yes. But we also do more than we probably need to - to reward the parents that are staying off, (if you understand what I mean) It's quite funny really as some of our attendees [parents] are a little put out that they haven't been given to packs as we encourage parents to share their child's 'work' on Facebook. Talk about FOMO! I must say we I had my well-being call from the LA she was really pushing to fact we should be claiming for ALL children that would normally have attended.
  14. I'm currently just working 2 mornings - and it's playing havoc with my brain. I don't usually work Fridays, but am now doing Weds + Fri, and I now haven't a clue what day of the week it is anymore! We're doing home learning pack for our funded children, I'm in charge of that and it seems to take all my time up though๐Ÿ˜ณ I don't even post them, I just make up the packs and staff share out the delivery as they are more local.
  15. Well, that's the problem.... the Mojo for 'buying' the fabric never goes!!!! Doing something with it, well that's a different matter altogether ๐Ÿคฃ I bought some fabric (online) at the weekend, it arrived and I just looked at and though Why?..... and put it with the bits I bought a few months ago!
  16. I'm ok, but I was a bit shocked that they rung to be honest, I actually felt a bit more valued. Although I'm begging to wish I'd asked for a nice day out for staff instead!
  17. Well I had a phone call today from my LA. They are very concerned about my well-being ๐Ÿ˜ณ I applied for a well-being grant....... turn's out everyone else asked for spa days for staff, massage chairs for the staff room, fancy coffee machines etc....... I asked for training for mental health, access to counselling for staff if they needed it, .....I also said I was ready to throw the towel in!
  18. That's shocking! To be fair ours is only a 10-15 min drive away.
  19. I didn't even get a reply! Our LA have sent an email strongly suggesting we all go out of our way and drive to a LF T test centre twice weekly. I can't really see the point really unless you're worried that you've been in contact etc. I guess that's easy for us though as we Arn not having any staffing issues ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž
  20. I watched this this afternoon. Different, but I enjoyed it, had to laugh though- I've now watched two films within a week ๐Ÿ™€.... and both had the same actor in! Lily James.
  21. Argh... I think it's because we have London by default (which usually covers our area to be honest) It's just the odd day we get Kent/south east. We have no aerial ๐Ÿ™€.... we're stumped if the 'box' goes off!! ๐Ÿ˜‚
  22. More annoying as it does literally just 'blip' - just enough to turn the virgin box off which then takes about 5mins to reboot and sets you back to main page ๐Ÿ˜ฉ Didn't effect the actual power supply thank goodness. Ongoing problems in the area, but I guess we're lucky to have power unlike many others. Yes, I just saw them ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ On the subject of lunchtime news, do those of you in Kent ever get the Essex news? I keep getting the Kent news!
  23. I've not managed to view my scheduled TV time at all. We kept having power supply blips yesterday ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
  24. Ok, now with two recommendations I am going to make a concerted effort to watch it tomorrow. I'm trying to have clear 'down-time'. I watched the remake of Rebecca yesterday which I enjoyed more than I though I would. I was saying at work Friday (whilst looking after 4 children) that I really don't watch very much TV at all. I watch This Is Us, and that's about it really. I usually have Hallmark type films on in the background for noise if I'm being lazy and working from the sofa. If I'm in my study/office it's radio 4. I did bing watch the Marvellous Mrs Masiel - but it think that was for the costumes more than anything. Oh and Little Fires Everywhere - but I've totally forgotten what it was about now ๐Ÿ˜ณ
  25. I always thought that about Lettuce/tice...... until I came across it in a book spelt lettuce! I suppose it could be one of those names that's changed over time by interpreting how it's been spelt on birth records etc?
