I've been thinking about this (alot!). I haven't checked, but have they added runny nose and sneezing to the symptoms list yet? I guess maybe covid can develop into a cold if you're already rundown- and sneezing is a sure fire way of spending any remaining virus.

Good to hear everyones managed at least a semi decent Christmas. and I hope your daughter-in-law tests negative too sunnyday. I did end up doing the turkey after all, we had it Christmas Eve (as is our norm) but I did it with simple veg, and yesterday was a total stress free and relaxing day. I guess I'm lucky in a way to just have the one daughter- as I didn't feel the need to 'spread' myself around + I have been her childcare bubble and I've seen her more or less throughout this whole thing (apart from the March lockdown period, until we were able to outdoor meets)

We're following this closely...Groundhog Day... I think we''be expected to open regardless (and our area is is getting daft now, our LA is, I think 5/6th in the country now), and can sort of cope with this- although most of our staff are 'mature' to put it politely. I just wish we were up on the list for vaccines I know they say we're the same as any shop workers etc- but I'm pretty sure they can social distance easier and/or have screen + they don't tend to be licked by people and coughed and sobbed over!!

This is what confuses me. Surely you can have parked up lorries AND normal traffic at the same time ? What if the drivers try to get out?

Neighbour is sorted - her brother is bring dinner. So I think it's lasagne for us then - my favourite ! A question for those of you in Kent. When they do 'stack-up' on the M20 - do they completely close both sides and all traffic has to find alternative routes?

think I'm going to put the ball in my next door neighbours court - I'm going ask if she'd like a dinner (delivered ) If she says yes- dinners on! Just had some major excitement here.... I thought someone had stolen our outside lights 🙀 turns out they're not working 😂 I was just about to put a post on our village Facebook page !!!!

Well I'm about - but I'm keeping quiet as otherwise it looks like I have nothing better to do..... 🤣 Oh, hang on............. I actually have nothing better to do.😳 I'm actually contemplating whether or not to actually bother with a Christmas dinner or not? Might just have lasagne instead, same with making shortbread and mince pies.... do I bother? If I make them I will eat them- and I seriously need to cut down on calorie intake, plus id rather just have wine and chocolate.(and a lot less hassle) 🤔

What fantastic news! Maybe it's because the vaccine is time sensitive? It only last 3.5 day once the batch is opened- so maybe having a later appointment helped. I put my details into a 'date generator' and it said to expect it around 24th April- 5th May 😳

Spend time thinking about the questions you want to ask, (and what outcomes you want etc) while your waiting and write them down. You know what it's like- you'll be so relieved that you've actually got through you'll forget the reasons why you rang. I hope you manage to get it sorted today. xxx

I think every one is so tetchy at the moment. Take care of your own mental health, and do what is right for you. At times like this I go with the 'least said, soonest mended' mantra and tend to shut down. I told my daughter I was on the verge of lobbing the Christmas tree- complete with lights and decorations out into the garden. Were I live T4 - I am 12 miles from a T2 area almost totally surrounded by T4 ........... call my a cynic but I think having an airport has something to do with it!

I really can't decide. I've enjoyed watching it, and they are all good- but I hasn't really grabbed me this year. I guess I'd like Bill due to age.

I think I can do better... (in my defence it was on our last work day- so my brain was already totally fried) Was was telling a friend about the sad life of another friend of mine. (the person in question is in her late 60s) Me: Yes. it's sad her mother died in childbirth when she was around 7 Friend: Oh yes that is sad, did she have many children? Yes: Yes she had 8 -all girls...... I'm not sure which one she died after giving birth to though.. My friend just looked at me and couldn't keep a straight face!

fingers crossed to froglet. We've decided not to have dinner together with anyone- just a quick visit. I shall miss granddaughter's first birthday on New Years day - but I'm just glad that it's this year when she doesn't really have a clue what going on- and will never remember not having a first birthday party anyway. I have a longterm plan ...... I'm going to buy a super expensive fake tree in jan/feb when they sell them off cheap- then I'll have a fancy posh tree for when I have Christmas proper on the 25th June !!! ... and a first birthday party on the 1st July

Not sure why it's quoted sunnyday! 😂 But anyway.... I really don't think many parents actually 'think' anymore. We had a few issues at the beginning of last week- My deputy then put out a heartfelt letter on our Facebook page about why we all need to take this seriously. Since then the parents have seemed to taken notice- and we had some fantastic messages and cards thanking us for taking such good care off their children during the pandemic. I think people just become complacent about the situation. Until it hit our local primary I don't think many parents saw any real problem with the virus to be honest.

Hope your week goes well, I am going to say prepare for the worst and hope for the best though We had our first case in our primary announced Sunday night, by Wednesday we had to give the parents a serious warning about their behaviour regarding siblings, school shut fully Thursday (mainly due to staff cases rather than children). We made it to Friday (with full attendance each day)- had the most fantastic party- have to say the parents totally changed after the stern warning from us. We have had endless messages of thanks for making it such a special Christmas for all the children.

Well we're done. Party went well, we had a covid safe entertainer (one of our parents) and she was fantastic with the children, and even Father Christmas enjoyed himself (after a week of muttering and moaning) Took my granddaughter on a train ride (narrow gauge) to see Father Christmas this afternoon, at just under a year I thought she'd be to young- but she absolutely loved it. I'm actually feeling a bit like Christmas now
