  1. ok so RSA will not cover you for covid unless you take more than K250 (As above group 5-9) ...so if you are big and dont need it you have it and if you are small and really need it you do not!!!!!
  2. well we've heard from our LEA we will be funded for any time we are closed if told to by a registered authority We have decided not to refund fees but will carry them over to next term and use them as a credit. We have a holiday club running....this is more tricky ...we will have to refund if closed (and still have to pay staff!!) if not officially closed we will continue to run! listening to the news tonight it seems to be less likely that schools will close. if myself and deputy are ill (likely as she's my daugther and lives with me!!) we will ask ofsted to allow one of our trustees to fill in !! (this is a work in progress need to sort this one out!!!!!) i will be in touch so no DSL issue
  3. I had a parent come in this morning with her child said she was running a temperature so she'd given her calpol and she had a cough....but she would be fine. I sent her home...Mother VERY CROSS! then a prospective parent asking to come in after they came back from their holiday abroad....i said no! seems sensible not to open ourselves up to un-needed visits most parents being sensible. I have now sent out info saying if running a temperature or has a cough not allowed in (to be honest not much different to normal then!!) but i do seem to be having sensible parents. Had one in a mild panic yesterday but not too bad in general so far.......
  4. have you looked at the step by step plan on ERIC.org. a really good way of getting you to where you need to be!! great for parents as there is a forum to ask questions too. Some of our children have followee the plan and got results really quickly. There is a whole section on pooing in pants/nappy etc. ....as i say to the parents it has to be fun/motivating/exciting and rewarding
  5. Maria , who did your fire risk assessment? did they not provide you with some solutions? One of the buildings we've worked in couldn't have a fire alarm so you used to have to shout Fire x3 ! ther are often alternatives. Or you could ask your local fire station for advise too
  6. Thanks Tim i spoke to Lawcall today and they have told me how to persue it.....though no offer of doing it for me!! (we are EYA members) It was a really interesting phonecall and we have had some good discussions about how to attempt to stop it again. For anyone who needs it you need to follow the pre-action protocol on the government website and follow the instructions (use Panders link and find from there!) this gives the debtor 30 dys to respond...then you have to chase and gie another 14 days then you can claim online (fees to be paid for claim and court cost ...though you may get this back and you can charge interest) Well thats a brief outline. We can't do the letters until friday now but i'll feedback how it goes!
  7. Are they not funding you the same as the school dates then??? seems a bit of an odd way of doing it
  8. im sure it depends on your lea 12 week term for us !
  9. That looks great....i can see us being able to use this, though i am still hoping to settle before we get to that point! amazing how £12 a day adds up !!! We let it go on for too long i suspect but i know she needed to use our service...now im feeling cross and a little bit stupid!. You live and learn
  10. Thanks Sunnny ... we don't normally let them rack up debts but for one reason or another we allowed it in this case. The bill is now £800 !!! i have already threaten solicitors now need to do the next step....solicitor or debt collector maybe?
  11. We have a parent who has not paid their bill.We have now stopped her child using our service (after school club) but she still owes us quite a lot of money. I am going to ring Lawcall on monday but wondered of any of you have dealt with this and how you went about it. We don't normally have to chase but i know this one is different!!!
  12. although if coronavirus gets hold this may temporarily change apparently!
  13. i really must get a spell cheker on this system!!!
  14. he's lovong pre-school...just doesn't like to be told what to do!
  15. he's a chuckker upper !! i told him to have a go on the toilet ...he screamed and then......... It's his reaction to everything i can't believe he can produce that much. Bless he doesn't speak English and he does it to Mum ALL the time, his poor cousin looked mortified I had at least got him on to the bathroom area today!
  16. i had one throw up all over me today....so guess that doesn't count??
  17. I think thats a good option if you have room. We have some ikea wiggly mirrors which means we can keep an eye on thinsg if needed. If you are worried about ofsted you could do a risk assessment for it. sorry just read my previous...was supposed to sound questioning not accusatory
  18. does the child not have the right to some privacy? Are your staff qualified and do you trust them? could you add anything else to help the situation? (mirrors/baby monitors ) We are not in a dissimilar position.!
  19. No such bloomin luck unless i put an army of yellow thingies in my place
  20. Been a busy one for us ...we haven't been this busy running on such a small number of staff for ever....feel like everything is never quite finished. I have the last of my new children in for this year and he's a screamer and chuck upper !!! nice! Corornavirus madness has hit big round here. We have had schools closing for deep cleaning! and lots of stupid parents doing rediculous things (sorry had to be said!) I have had to write letters to everyone. I was in spain last week so maybe i'll have a couple of weeks off???!! 2 lots just come back from Vietnam ...just been added to the list of possible countries Gov .uk has the most up to date info and specific for each business area. On a positive my front garden looking very Springy slightly more annoyingly got called out for the alarms at work at midnight last night.
  21. Apparently this is a yellow thingy.....!!!!!
  22. I think this may be included in the significant changes section. I would ring them and have a chat. It's not uncommon . I am assuming you have a DBS and are on the update service so i expect that they would not require you to do this at present (unless it becomes permanent) . You may need to inform your insurance company too. As for the acting headship i'm sure they could answer this at the same time. Just ring them ...they are usually very helpful once you get through!
  23. this is what you are looking for when you go! https://www.amazon.co.uk/Blackboard-Sinbury®-Chalkboard-Adhesive-45x200cm/dp/B0739QMQLK/ref=asc_df_B0739QMQLK/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=214522367922&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=8991502167817920160&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1007080&hvtargid=pla-423578762788&psc=1
