  5. Keep checking the sites. I just went on Tesco site to see if I could get a slot for next week or week after - but I could only get one this Friday ! They must release a few more each day? There was nothing for the next two weeks, just this Friday.
  6. I think it's an apple? Am I correct?
  7. Oh... can I copy this (literally!) Simple but fun. I did think of taking close up pics of everyday items.
  8. I am making up little craft bags to drop at a couple of friends when on my daily walk. (Collage pack for 3ys olds) I'm waiting for the glue to arrive before they can go out. Seem's all the small pots of glue have flown off the shelves, so i got a bit tub for work and will add a small bottle. NOTE- I'll just be leaving on door steps in paper bags. They will open them in a few days.
  9. Sounds like my family.
  10. I can sew, and have lots of fabric and lots of time. Down side is I don't actually know what to sew I don't really need anything.
  11. My neighbour was contacted this afternoon by Sainsburys and offered a spot for Thursday, so don't give up hope yet.
  12. Well I'm getting 50 thousand video calls every day .......... I'm seeing more of the little one than in a normal week! I think my daughter find in the lock in more difficult than me. I've leant today my Facebook skills need upgrading- after asking parents to post pictures of their 'makes' today I find my security doesn't allow this
  13. I took my husband for a physio appointment this morning, went into local supermarket to park-up and read whilst waiting - was surprised to find it car park with just a few cars in, ventured into the shop and it was just like a normal shop with just a few bare shelves Not going to lie, it's nice being off work- especially with this beautiful weather.
  14. 'Wave' Hi, just post random happy thoughts...I'm pretty sure that what most of us do!
  15. I've actually found a brand knew packet of 12 Terry nappies that I shall gift to my daughter They must be 36yrs old. (I really need to stop all this hoading......)
  16. I did an octopus, no good for a premature baby so I gave it to my daughters friend for her 3month old, made as second- better but still not up to standard so I gave that one to my daughter. . I will persevere but find it hard to crochet so tight.
  17. Oh wow.................... no other words - they are so beautiful
  18. We were saying this, think we'll be going back to days when children were nearly always clean by 2.5 unless issue. My daughter was clean at 2.. but she had Terry nappies!!
  19. While we're chitchatting..... remember us grumbling about how long we had to go before the Easter Break. Hope everyones' ok, is able the weather this storm. Like the idea of a cheerful chit chat thread. I'm going try and make the most of the enforced break and get our in the garden. My husband is getting our bikes out (after about 6 years in the shed) and we are going to explore the countryside again like we used to. We will have to take a rucksack with supplies and not be able to rely on country pubs though.
  20. We will be offering 'make-up' sessions for our fee payers losing out this term - next terms fees will be done from once we reopen. Luckily for us we haven't go too many fee payers, and we won't be paying full rent - so this covers that shortfall. All funding will be used to pay staff.
  21. We're not on tapestry they look interesting. This has hit us quickly- so not really had time to arrange home-kits before the children stopped coming in. We're in a London commuter belt town, so many of our parents have already stopped coming we've averaged 8/26 all week. We have one key-worker parent- but she already has her child sorted. We have a max of 5 in tomorrow morning and then we close. We've turned our home learning onto the parents and asked if they can post pictures (with no faces) of any activities they had done/tried etc. We are going to set little challenges/ideas weekly. To be honest it's been a very stressful week, but now I know funding will be paid, staff will be paid so feel slightly less stressed. We are lucky, we are a term time sessional so lot less money to lose than a full year or with before and after care. If we don't open during the summer term, as we're based in a large park, we're thinking of doing a picnic towards the end of August /beginning of Sept and having an outdoor celebration for our leavers. Hopefully we will be able to by then On a positive, I need to do our accounts for the year and now I have time. ( after a week with my head in the accounts I might even be able to pay full not 80%- but I didn't want to promise this to staff yet )
  22. We are paying full pay until Easter, next term will be 80%. Our funding is being paid, so feel it should be passed onto staff. Most of our children are funded- but we do have a few that pay. I'm not sure if we will get funding for the current children that would be eligible after Easter - my fault as I've not read the small print yet- but if they do and we end up with more than expected- staff we either get a small bonus near Christmas, or a big meal out! We are a not-for-profit group and most of our money goes on staffing.
  23. Our LA (which we have heard absolutely nothing from until yesterday) seem to have really got there act together. They are setting up 'hubs' for these groups children and they are asking setting if they will: a) offer their setting as a hub, and b) can they offer staff to work in the hubs. I'm impressed if I'm honest.
  24. We have a section on our parent emergency contacts details - So those actually show work addresses etc, so we can work out from that. We have one nurse who was shocked to think we would remain open for her. She said she already had her cover sorted . We are just term time sessional, with no before/after school club etc. So I guess many of ours have back up cover anyway.
  25. Yes, I've had a look this afternoon I did the speech, language and communication one. Didn't take very long, but there were a few basic reminders of good practice.
