  1. I feel I have to add- I'm only talking about 1 or 2 a week, not for all the normal working hours! I shall check out psla I aways forget about them.
  2. I was thinking the same. Kinda thinking I might offer unpaid- and they can do nothing work related, or fully paid but must access 'x' amount of online training each week.

  4. I posted a link on one of these threads with the info from gov.com. about funding being continued. After hearing/ getting no support or advice at all, I did get a personal (rather than a generic one) email from the funding team confirming they would pay during closure. Essex.
  5. Reading the document it says we will pay the funding to the LA and we 'expect' the LA to pass it to settings! Would any LAs choose to not pass on...
  6. Happy Birthday xxxxx
  7. Hoping this link works https://www.gov.uk/government/news/free-childcare-offers-to-continue-during-coronavirus-closures?utm_source=81af3210-cd22-496a-9f51-1c72514c14e8&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=govuk-notifications&utm_content=immediate&fbclid=IwAR1wM2muzHDdbyn1dijFEUzf-m1YJbwpCCL-0_dFB4iUvMnxCHTV8kxfXYU Thank goodness for that!
  8. It's really difficult. we can go fine paying staff up to Easter if we closed now. I'm worried about if we have to close summer term without funding- I've had the 'chat' with staff today. We're a more 'mature' staff, and our (slightly) younger members have elderly parents. We're all a tad worried.
  9. Well ours are 'issuing a statement soon' .... that was last week - still nothing!
  10. We sent this letter out Friday, and will this week (different do a variety of sessions). It not my work, but was share by someone on Facebook. I only print things in small daily amounts as things a changing so quickly. Covid-19 12:03:2020.docx
  11. Exactly! I really think early years should be closed as they have absolutely no control over coughs and sputters Ok, maybe a bait harsh, but possibly pared down for parents that genuinely need childcare, and not the coffee shop gym bunnies! Rant over
  12. No, they actually only funded 37 April - March! Stating something about parents will get extra this year,(sept- July that is!) all very weird if you ask me. There were rumours that our LA were about to go bankrupt, so not sure if they were grabbing money left/right and centre? Haven't a clue if if was true or not though, however things have seriously changed, lots of job loses, and we have very little input from them now.
  13. Gosh that does sound hard work! I did similar last year and our LA literally just more or less said ' Nah, don't worry about it, will just count it as stretched funding, as long as you tell the parents'! We did, and we started the couple of summer term starters the week before Easter.
  14. I can sort of see his thinking if everyone is reasonably fit, healthy and low risk......... But I'm not sure how it works if you have elderly relatives etc. A few of my staff have their own parents in 70/80s that they care for, obviously they are worried about spreading the virus to them.
  15. Fees: Difficult one. We have very few fee payers, so sort of crossing that bridge when it comes to it. Although that said we have had one parent today asking if she can have her summer term bill as soon as poss! Not sure if she's going to be happy with sunnydays prediction I think I might carry 'hours' over for fee payers, so possibly offer extra hours in September when we are quieter - although these will be funded by then, but can just have extra hours. This would be for a forced closure, if for any reason we chose for ourself to close think I'd refund.
  16. I believe that the DSL just needs to be 'contactable' - So you could be a phone call away for advice etc if needed?.. That is what we have been told, although we do have 3 trained staff.
  17. I'll be sending out my updating letters Monday. I'm hoping they've seen the news this evening and will use there own common sense tomorrow (haven't got the energy to write it all up tonight, and print off etc-as I had to go out early and I've only just got in) To be fair our parents have been fantastic so far, and we've had a fair few off this week with minor coughs/ colds/sniffles that would normally be in regardless- the parents have actually said it's not fair on us [staff] to be coughed and spluttered over! One set of parent is keeping their child off as they are genuinely worried about virus.
  18. I mentioned it the other day on the Friday thread We had one of the first cases in our next local big town, with no know direct links to the cause of infection- So we felt we need to be seen to be proactive (whatever our personal thoughts) We now have everybody entering the build having to wash hands etc. The parents love it as now that can just drop them at the door a speed off! As long as funding will continue if we need to close, financially we should be ok as we have very few children that actually pay. Our shops have been cleared out of pasta, toilets rolls and cleaning stuff etc for well over a week now.... (and any other random item that someone on Facebooks decides to name!)
  19. Well I've checked, and we are in fact doing a 39 weeks year (Sept19-July 20)
  20. Me too. I'm usually so hot on after being caught out one year. Last year our LA only offered 37 weeks (April to March) so feel bit hard done by having to do 38 this year.
  21. 3rd for us too! That's four weeks left
  22. Now I need to go and check how many we have, I just know it's definitely no two!
