She doesn't work as a trustee on the floor though. SO the EY2 bit is for her trustee role . Her staff contract would be under a new dbs certificate for staff done through us. Our trustees don't need health checks

on another note...has anyone else got a group who don't know which hand to use? i have some really bright cookies but they are not showing handedness yet! is this a result of too many swipe screens? holding the device with their "correct" hand and swiping with their "off hand"?

Ah well that sounds quite clear....is this from your LEA then? (i hadn't actually asked our LEA they are being a bit useless at the moment!!!) Yes she is on the update service but i can understand that they need to get their pennies worth from us....lets not give us an inch eh? after all we get paid so much funding (sorry sarcasm off button not working)

I keep reading ofsted reports (must stop doing that) that go on and on about how well behaved the children are and think ..oh boy !!!!!

it is an enhanced check (they need it to become part of the business)...hum yes think an email needs to be pinged off!!

yes my issue is the "do you work with the children " question obviously when a trustee no but now a yes!!!

im glad its not just me..but ive got another week to go. Was really questioning my practice today...we seem to be suffering from some pretty awful behaviour issues. WIth little backup from parents . I worry that this is to do with the way children are being brought up..just me???

one of our trustees (fully dbs'd through ofsted) is going to do some work with us in january with the children...do we need to dbs her again????

two boys today having an arguement one wanting to put a piece of wood on the construction the other wanting to top it off with a timer (!) . Did the comic thing or going at it for a while until i had no choice but to intervene. "now boys we can't behave with our friends like this...how do you think we could sort it out. !st boy looks blankly at me 2nd boy looked me in the eye with a steely gaze "FIGHT" he said loudly

from the responses i have had from settings ofsted are not really interested in your planning they are much more interested in your intent (what you are trying to get across to the children ...your teaching ) how you are doing that (your implementation) and what that has taught the children (impact) so rather than thinking about planning around thematic days i think i would be rather thinking about what your cohort needs to learn (next steps and cultural capital)and how you are going to teach that. I think its fine to have areas in the classroom as it means you have a good range of skills out but i do sometimes think that in my setting this can restrict play , we don't seem to have a lot of transfer of items from one area to the other (like using small world in construction for instance) except of course my 2 year olds who just transport everything and dump it elsewhere! -

Interesting thoughts..which bits of the new frame work are you concerned you are not meeting ? (as someone who is expecting them shortly!!) what are you currently doing and why do you feel it doesn't meet your needs? -

Must admit i thought you had to have a seperate area for those under 18 months so that they can get away from the more mobile ones. (of course it also resitricts some f the things you might put out for the older ones too i guess? -

Age bands on reports

i suspect that if you look in your settings page that if you take off the age bands that they wouldn't show up...but haven't done it so not sure!. Give it a go...you can always reset it if it doesn't work
